What should a new client know about working with you?

I value the beauty of the therapeutic relationship and will work closely with you, infusing a lot of empathy and a little bit of humor, to establish a safe, trusting alliance that nurtures healing and encourages growth. I appreciate that everyone has their own unique life story and aim to truly understand life from your perspective. My goal is to provide you with a safe space to share your stories in a judgment-free zone, with understanding, compassion, and respect. I’ll meet you where you’re at and remain by your side on this journey as we process emotions and experiences together, to gain insight and make meaningful connections. I also have specialized training to support nurses, law enforcement officers, firefighters, EMTs, veterans, mental health professionals, and frontline workers navigating PTSD, moral injury, vicarious trauma, compassion fatigue, and burnout. We'll talk about the personal side of life, too, because relationships, parenting, finances, responsibilities, and daily stressors can be challenging. This work is personal to me. I grew up in the law enforcement community and have loved ones in law enforcement, the military, and nursing.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

I know that healing only begins when you feel safe to share your story and express your emotions. I have a warm, conversational approach, utilizing evidence-based practices such as CBT, DBT, strengths-based approaches, and mindfulness techniques. I understand that the decision to begin therapy is not made lightly. I’m happy to provide you with a free 15-minute phone consultation to ease any of your concerns and make sure that we’re a good fit.
