Patricia Ramirez, MA

Psychotherapist
70 E Sunrise Hwy, Ste 500 6266, Valley Stream, NY
With over ten years of experience exploring various mind, body, and soul approaches to healing, I believe the foundation of sustainable healing starts with the relationship we cultivate with our bodies and breath as our inner anchor. Because the body is a brilliant extension of our unconscious, attuning to it creates an accessible gateway for learning from, healing, and integrating our individual and collective shadows. This work beautifully pairs traditional psychological insights with the wisdom of the body—inviting us into a space of flow, cyclic awareness, and intuitive somatic movement to anchor what we discover in conversation. I am well aware of the systems that strengthen us and those that oppress us. The communities we come from, the bodies we live in, and the histories we carry all shape what feels safe, possible, and meaningful in this work. My practice is built to hold that complexity and meet each person within it. I am committed to providing LGBTQIA+ affirmative care and to continuously evolving my approach to be inclusive and culturally responsive.

What should a new client know about working with you?

I work with creatives, healers, highly sensitive people, and emerging adults facing existential questions - individuals with rich inner worlds who are living with anxiety, stress, and life transitions. I am here to bear witness to and help you heal trauma, including spiritual, sexual, and intergenerational trauma. I work with those struggling with body image and embodiment reclamation, and I hold space for people recovering from religious trauma and spiritual abuse, including yoga practitioners and teachers for whom traumatic memory has surfaced through their own practice. I offer a gentle, grounded, collaborative presence where you can feel deeply seen.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

Alongside talk therapy and within an integrative transpersonal framework, our work may include somatic therapy and somatic awareness, guided visualizations, mindfulness, trauma-informed and trauma-sensitive movement, creative practice, Internal Family Systems (IFS), and meaning-making practices. I offer a gentle, grounded, and collaborative presence where you can feel deeply seen and supported. I meet you at your own pace as we explore both the light and shadow aspects of your inner world—working to build a more attuned relationship with your body, emotions, intuition, creativity, and play. Our work may also include developing personalized rituals and tools that support your ongoing mental, physical, and spiritual connection to yourself.
