Mental health is a critical component of our overall health, and we are most often aware of this during times of struggle or transition. While these experiences may feel overwhelming and at times even painful, you no longer have to face these trials alone. You and I will join this journey together and work to achieve the more satisfying, meaningful, and mentally healthy life that you were meant to live. As a Licensed Professional Counselor(LPC), I am equipped with clinical knowledge using the most effective techniques, framed by compassion and authenticity. Having achieved my Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health from Texas Woman’s University, I have more than a decade of experience working amongst the juvenile and juvenile offender population. Specifically, counseling survivors of sexual abuse, physical/emotional abuse, and neglect has led to a special focus in trauma therapy and a passion for survivorship recovery. Implementing a trauma informed approach known as Trauma Focused-Cognitive Behavioral Therapy or TF-CBT allows for special considerations and harm reduction protocols for trauma survivor clients. I am also a trained professional provider of a powerful, scientifically proven therapy called Eye-Movement Desensitization Reprocessing or more widely known as EMDR. I use a non-judgmental and multiculturally informed approach with clients across diverse backgrounds within a broad age range. I honed important skills working with young children/teens and their parent/caregivers. Creating a partnership with parent/caregivers is crucial to an improved therapeutic outcome. I utilize evidence-based interventions for my clients experiencing anxiety, depression, sexual abuse, trauma, disordered eating, domestic violence, suicidal ideation, sleep dysfunction, LGBTQIA+ identity, and a variety of additional mental health concerns.
