Patrick Gribel, LMHC

Psychotherapist
FL
I'm a Licensed Mental Health Counselor in Miami offering depth-oriented, psychoanalytically informed therapy for adults. My work rests on a simple conviction: the patterns that bring us to therapy — the relationships that keep repeating, the feelings that don't make sense, the sense of being stuck in a life we didn't quite choose — usually have roots worth understanding rather than just managing. Rather than offering quick techniques, I work relationally and at a sustainable pace. I draw on psychoanalytic and humanistic traditions, which means I take seriously your history, your inner life, and what unfolds between us in the room. For people who have done more symptom-focused or short-term work before and found themselves wanting something deeper, this approach often resonates. I see adults navigating anxiety, depression, relationship difficulties, life transitions, questions of meaning and identity, and the quieter sense that something isn't right. If you're looking for a thoughtful, unhurried space to understand yourself more fully, I'd welcome a conversation.

What should a new client know about working with you?

Therapy with me isn't a fix-it service — it's a collaborative process of understanding. That means I won't hand you a worksheet in the first session, and I'll often be more interested in why something feels the way it does than in making the feeling disappear quickly. Many people find this clarifying and relieving; some find it slower than they expected, and that's worth naming early. I take confidentiality, consistency, and respect seriously. You don't need to arrive with the "right" words or a clear agenda. Showing up curious about your own experience is more than enough to begin.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

We begin with an initial conversation where I learn what's bringing you in and you get a feel for how I work — there's no pressure to commit before it feels like a fit. From there, we usually meet weekly, which gives the work enough continuity to develop. Early sessions tend to focus on understanding your history and the patterns shaping your present. Over time, the work deepens: we notice recurring themes, make sense of what's beneath the surface, and pay attention to how change actually takes hold for you. I check in periodically about how the process feels, so the direction stays genuinely yours.
