Getting to know Patrick Wood
I am a Licensed Professional Counselor. For more than twenty years, Iâve worked with adults, teens, and families facing trauma, anxiety, depression, and relationship struggles. My main orientation is Internal Family Systems IFS, which I use to help people understand and heal the protective and wounded parts of themselves. I also integrate attachmentbased and emotionally focused approaches to strengthen how clients relate to themselves and to the people who matter most.
I come to this work as both a professional and a person whoâs lived through many of the challenges my clients face. Iâm a parent who knows the daily strain of trying to be present for your family when youâre already running on empty. Iâm a trauma survivor who understands what itâs like to rebuild trust in yourself after being hurt. Iâve dealt with painful medical conditions that have tested my patience, resilience, and faith in the system. Iâm a husband in an interracial marriage, which continually deepens my understanding of identity, perspective, and what it means to hold space for difference with love and respect. And Iâve been both a therapist and a client, so I know how vulnerable it can feel to sit in that chair and hope the person across from you really gets it.
Because of those experiences, very little shocks me and nothing makes me see you as âœless than.â I donât view trauma, pain, or mistakes as signs of weakness â theyâre evidence of survival. My job is to meet you there with honesty, compassion, and respect, and help you find your way forward at a pace thatâs right for you.

More information on payments and coverage
Payment is due after each session and will be charged with your card on file for any portion of patient responsibility. Receipts will be provided at the time of the charge. This typically takes place 2-4 weeks after the session, once your insurance has had a chance to process the claim. We try our best to verify eligibility, but it is ultimately your responsibility to check coverage and out-of-pocket costs for services. For out-of-network visits, you will be billed at the provider’s self-pay rate, and we can provide an invoice for you to submit to your insurance for potential out-of-network reimbursement based on your plan’s benefits.
