Hello, I'm Paul. Do you ever feel overwhelmed and powerless to control negative thoughts and feelings related to depression, anxiety, or anger? Be hopeful in the fact that these problems do not have to be a permanent condition that controls your life. I work from a viewpoint that is like a sign I used to have hanging in my office: “Don’t believe everything you think.” Sometimes we have thoughts that lead to powerful negative emotions, which then can lead to behaviors that usually have bad consequences. I can help reframe these plaguing thoughts so that your thoughts work for you, not against you. In 2006, I graduated with a Master's Degree in Counseling from Texas Tech University and have been a Licensed Professional Counselor since 2009. I’ve worked with the most difficult patients in the most challenging circumstances, having served as a Director of Mental Health in a prison. Now I have my own private practice. I love counseling because I enjoy working with the underdog, who often feels like no one understands or like they are alone in their pain. I am an open listener. I work from where you are, and you can rest assured our conversations will be free from judgment or condescension. I am skilled at motivating clients and empowering those who feel powerless. My specialties include addiction, adolescent and teen mental/behavioral health, anger management, antisocial behavior, anxiety, bipolar disorder, depression, family relationships, grief/bereavement, life transitions, phobias, psychosis/schizophrenia, sleep disorders, spirituality, stress, and suicidal ideation and/or self-harming. Whether you are dealing with a specific issue or just need someone to talk to, I am here to help. So, if you are ready to make the decision to free yourself from desperation and darkness, let’s start working together to make a change. Reach out, and let's take the first step on this journey together.
