Getting to know Dr. Paula Smith

Paula is the mother of 4 grown children and grandmother of four, and wife of a retired Naval officer. For more than two decades, she has spent her time working with the homeless Veterans population, and is currently working at the VA in their homeless program in Dublin, Georgia. Having a history of working in a level one trauma center, her eyes were opened to the trauma that many people experience in their everyday life. Her passion is working with individuals who have had the unfortunate experiences that trauma often brings to them. She has completed her Doctorate of Social Work. She is certified in DBT and Equine Assisted Psychotherapy. Paula has worked with horses for many years and believe in the power that they bring to the therapeutic relationship and have seen first hand that the healing they bring to this relationship.
