I believe healing begins when you feel safe enough to be fully yourself. Reaching out for therapy can feel vulnerable, especially when you've spent years carrying responsibilities, managing expectations, or navigating challenges that others may never see. My goal is to create a space where you can show up exactly as you are, without judgment, pressure, or the need to have everything figured out. I am an Associate Licensed Counselor in Alabama practicing under the supervision of Courtney Benjamin, LPC-S, PMH-C. I hold master's degrees in both Public Health and Clinical Mental Health Counseling from the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB). My professional experience spans more than a decade of work across Africa, the Middle East, Europe, and the United States, giving me a deep appreciation for the cultural, social, and personal experiences that shape our mental health and relationships. As a neurodivergent clinician, I bring both professional expertise and lived understanding to the challenges many individuals face with ADHD, executive functioning, perfectionism, anxiety, and chronic overwhelm. I am especially passionate about helping high-achieving individuals who appear successful on the outside but feel exhausted, disconnected, or stuck in cycles of self-doubt and survival mode. My experience working in psychiatric hospital settings has provided extensive training in supporting individuals experiencing severe stress, trauma, PTSD, anxiety disorders, eating disorders, mood disorders, and crisis stabilization. This work has strengthened my understanding of the connection between the mind, body, nervous system, and overall emotional well-being.

What should a new client know about working with you?

Clients often describe my style as warm, thoughtful, curious, and direct when needed. I believe growth happens when people feel both supported and challenged in a compassionate environment. What you can expect from me is compassion without judgment, honest feedback when helpful, evidence-based care, and a genuine commitment to helping you build a life that feels more balanced, connected, and fulfilling. Together, we'll work toward greater clarity, emotional stability, self-trust, and sustainable well-being. Wherever you are in your journey, you do not have to navigate it alone. I would be honored to walk alongside you as you move toward healing, growth, and a deeper connection with yourself.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

I view therapy as a collaborative partnership. You are the expert on your life, and my role is to help you better understand yourself, develop new tools, and create meaningful change that aligns with your values and goals. My approach integrates evidence-based therapies, including: -Motivational Interviewing (MI) to help uncover strengths, increase self-confidence, and support meaningful behavior change. -Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to identify and transform patterns of thinking that may be contributing to anxiety, depression, or emotional distress. -Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) to strengthen emotional regulation, distress tolerance, and relationship skills. -Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) to help you move toward a values-driven life while developing psychological flexibility. -Narrative and Attachment Based Approaches to explore the stories, relationships, and experiences that have shaped your sense of self. Whether you're working through trauma, managing anxiety, healing from difficult relationships, navigating neurodivergence, or seeking greater emotional balance, therapy can be a place to reconnect with yourself and cultivate lasting change.
