My name is Peggy Ann Serena Hemmer, but I prefer to be called Serena. Since 2004, I have been providing clinically sound, creative, and holistic counseling to individuals, couples, families, and children aged three and up. Before my clinical practice, I spent nine years with the Ohio county and state departments of mental health and substance abuse.
I am dedicated to empowering clients to discover their inner wisdom, reclaim their authentic selves, and cultivate lives rich in ease and joy. My credentials include a Bachelor of Social Work degree, earned Summa Cum Laude from Capital University, and a Master of Social Work degree from The Ohio State University. Licensed as a Clinical Social Worker in Florida, I hold certifications in Rational Hypnotherapy, Gottman Couples Counseling, and Spiritual Life Coaching.
Having established my private practice in Central Ohio in 2006, I relocated to Florida in 2013 and now provide Telehealth Therapy services from my home in the Saint Petersburg area. Complementing my formal education and experience, I am certified in various holistic modalities, including Reiki Master Teacher, Advanced Theta Healing Practitioner, and Access Bars Practitioner.

More information on payments and coverage
Payment is due after each session and will be charged with your card on file for any portion of patient responsibility. Receipts will be provided at the time of the charge. This typically takes place 2-4 weeks after the session, once your insurance has had a chance to process the claim. We try our best to verify eligibility, but it is ultimately your responsibility to check coverage and out-of-pocket costs for services. For out-of-network visits, you will be billed at the provider’s self-pay rate, and we can provide an invoice for you to submit to your insurance for potential out-of-network reimbursement based on your plan’s benefits.
