Getting to know Peggy Escobedo

Hello, I'm a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) from the state of Indiana. Collectively, I've spent 24 years working in the mental health field in a variety of positions and roles, with the last 10 in the role of therapist. I earned my Master's in Mental Health Counseling from Walden University. I hold the following certifications: Certified Clinical Trauma Professional Level 2 (CCTP-Level 2), Certified Personality Disorder Treatment Provider, and Certified Dialectical Behavioral Therapist (C-DBT). I am also trained in Trauma Focused CBT (TF-CBT), Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), and Complex Trauma Treatment. Although I have experience working with a wide range of clients with a variety of unique issues that bring them to therapy, my area of expertise is trauma and related disorders. I have worked with individuals ranging in age from 7 to 75 who have experienced trauma, with a focus on those who have experienced Intimate Partner Violence and/or are survivors of crimes. I understand that sometimes things happen to us that overwhelm our normal abilities to cope, and as a result, our ability to process those events is often diminished. I approach therapy from the mindset of “what has happened to you” versus “what is wrong with you.” I view the therapeutic process as a journey that my clients have given me the honor and privilege to accompany them on. My approach to being your therapist is to work with the individual, not the diagnosis or issue that brought you to therapy. I strive to treat my clients as equals and understand they are the experts of their own thoughts, feelings, and behaviors.

Payment is due after each session and will be charged with your card on file for any portion of patient responsibility. Receipts will be provided at the time of the charge. This typically takes place 2-4 weeks after the session, once your insurance has had a chance to process the claim. We try our best to verify eligibility, but it is ultimately your responsibility to check coverage and out-of-pocket costs for services. For out-of-network visits, you will be billed at the provider’s self-pay rate, and we can provide an invoice for you to submit to your insurance for potential out-of-network reimbursement based on your plan’s benefits.
