Pejman “Pej” Mahdavi is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. Pej has a master’s degree in social work from the University of Southern California and has worked in community mental health for the past 15 years. He was born in Iran and immigrated to the United States because of the Iranian Revolution. He grew up in Los Angeles and worked as a child abuse investigator for LA County. After moving to Georgia, Pej worked for the Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Disabilities, the Department of Juvenile Justice, along with serving as a therapist, team lead, and director in a community mental health agency. Pej’s clinical experience includes working with individuals with severe and persistent mental illness, assessing and stabilizing mental health crises, and working in the criminal justice system. Pej takes an eclectic and person-centered approach to therapy. He has been trained in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Motivational Interviewing, Recovery Focused CBT, and Trauma Focused CBT. Pej is able to utilize his clinical experience to develop a unique plan to guide individuals through their struggles. Other than being a Trojan, Pej is a Bulldog and Laker fan. He enjoys being outdoors, camping, biking, tennis, and spending time with family.
