What should a new client know about working with you?

Hello Everyone! My name is Percival Fisher, Jr. However, you can call me "Percy" and I have been providing individual and group psychotherapy for 13 years. I am here to assist you to reach your goals in therapy. I provide a safe, warm, and interactive space to talk about your presenting issues. I have experience providing therapy to individuals experiencing depression, anxiety, anger, trauma, "coming out"/LGBTQIA related issues, POC/BIPOC identity, racial/cultural, trauma, religious trauma, and family conflicts. I utilize multiple treatment modalities (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Psychodynamic Psychotherapy, Trauma-Informed Therapy, Harm Reduction, Motivational Interviewing (MI), Crisis Intervention, and Relational Therapeutic techniques) that would be would be best for you and your specific needs. I am only seeing clients in California at this time, I am as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in the states of Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Maryland (LCSW-C), Florida, North Carolina, Oregon, Minnesota, Illinois, Arizona, Washington (LICSW), and West Virginia (LICSW). Additionally, I am a Board Certified Diplomate in Clinical Social Work (BCD) of the American Board of Examiners in Clinical Social Work. In addition, I am a Certified Complex Trauma Professional (CCTP-II) from the International Association of Trauma Professionals and a Certified Case Manager (CCM) from the Commission for Case Management Certification. Outside of psychotherapy, I have experience in behavioral health research, HIV/AIDs education & counseling, teaching, medical social work, and leadership. In my free time, I enjoy watching all Marvel's series on Netflix, psychological thrillers, reading, traveling, conversations about current events about mental health, and working out! What is your typical process for working with clients?

I engage clients in psychotherapy (talk therapy), socratic questioning, motivational interviewing and relational therapy, with a mix of being my :authentic self" to guide the session:). I like to develop a safe space for clients "to be themselves, authentically" without judgment.
