Peta Lawson, LPC

Psychotherapist
CT
Hello and welcome. My name is Peta, and as a Psychotherapist with over 6 years of experience, I bring a positive and energetic approach to therapy. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) with a Master’s degree in Clinical Counseling and Human Services from Post University. I have experience providing treatment to both adults and adolescents struggling with issues related to conduct, trauma, anxiety, depression, ADHD, and more. I have a passion for working with adolescents and believe that creating meaningful therapeutic connections allows them to feel safe while exploring struggles related to mental health and the impact of these struggles on their functioning. I use a combination of modalities when working with individuals and families, including techniques from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Mindfulness, and other evidence-based counseling approaches, to help individuals reduce their symptoms and improve their emotional wellness. When working with adolescents and teenagers, I also incorporate different activities to help them discover their inner strength. My hobbies include traveling, cooking, gardening, and spending time with family and friends.
