Hi, My name is Pornpan Gering or you can call me Am (my Thai name). I am a licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) and hold a Master of Arts degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from the University of Kentucky. I work with adults, and couples who experience a wide range of mental health challenges and marital conflict. As your therapist, we will work together to meet your mental health goals. I thoroughly believe that connecting with clients, building safe spaces, and developing a mutual sense of trust are the first steps to success. My approach to treatment is a client-centered approach based on cognitive behavioral therapy, mindfulness techniques, Gottman couple therapy, and dialectical behavior therapy. My focus is to encourage the development of couples’ and individuals’ strengths and provide mental support while working as a team to accomplish goals. As a therapist, I am passionate about encouraging clients to foster self-awareness by focusing on internal thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. I also encourage clients to learn skills using DBT techniques to help them become self-sufficient. I am fluent in English and Thai.
