Getting to know Porschia Fisher

Hi there, I'm Porschia! My name is Porschia Fisher, and I am a Licensed Professional Counselor based in Alabama who works with clients via telehealth. I hold a Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Troy University. I work with couples, individuals, families, and adolescents. I specialize in anxiety, depression, stress management, work-life balance, women’s issues, life transitions, and self-esteem, using Cognitive Behavioral Therapy to help my clients make progress and start feeling better. My approach My approach to therapy varies based on each client’s needs. I most frequently use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy to build a shared understanding of their reality and work together to chart a path forward. My focus I have found my style fits individuals, couples, adolescents, and families dealing with life transitions. This often presents as depression, anxiety, stress management, self-esteem, and work-life balance. I help clients navigate these transitions and build skills to feel better about themselves and develop a more positive outlook. My communication style My communication style is calm, neutral, accommodating, and personable. I want clients to feel comfortable talking about anything, and I pride myself on listening without judgment. My journey to mental healthcare I became a therapist because I have always wanted to help people. Whether volunteering or being a trusted friend, I am naturally drawn to supporting others through difficult times. I enjoy seeing individuals happy as they become the best versions of themselves. My goals for you My goal-setting approach is about working together to define what you want to accomplish. This often starts by building trust and getting comfortable with what it means to be in therapy.
