Psychotherapist

I believe therapy should be a space where you can slow down, feel understood, and explore the parts of your life that may be difficult to make sense of on your own. I work with adolescents and young adults navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, relationship concerns, perfectionism, identity development, and major life transitions. I have a particular interest in supporting first-generation, immigrant, and multicultural clients who may be balancing different cultural expectations, family relationships, and questions about belonging and identity. My approach is collaborative, culturally responsive, and trauma-informed. I draw from psychodynamic therapy, DBT, CBT, relational approaches, and other evidence-based strategies depending on each client’s needs. My goal is not simply to help you manage symptoms, but to better understand the patterns, experiences, and relationships that shape how you see yourself and interact with the world. Together, we can build greater self-understanding, develop practical tools for navigating difficult emotions, and work toward meaningful, sustainable change. I earned my Master of Philosophy in Education for Counseling from the University of Pennsylvania and have experience providing therapy to college students, international and first-generation students, and children and adolescents. I can also provide culturally responsive care informed by my multilingual background, including Hindi and Telugu.

What should a new client know about working with you?

My style is warm, collaborative, and thoughtful. I want therapy to feel like a space where you can be honest without feeling judged or pressured to have everything figured out. I balance exploration with practical support, so we may spend time understanding where certain patterns come from while also building tools you can use in your everyday life. I am especially attentive to the ways culture, family, identity, immigration, and expectations around achievement can shape how we understand ourselves. I draw from psychodynamic, relational, DBT, CBT, and trauma-informed approaches, adapting our work to what feels most useful for you.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

We’ll begin by getting to know what brings you to therapy, what has been happening in your life, and what you would like to be different. Early sessions usually focus on understanding your history, relationships, current stressors, strengths, and goals so we can develop a shared direction for treatment. From there, sessions are tailored to your needs. We may explore recurring emotional or relationship patterns, work through difficult experiences, practice skills for managing anxiety or overwhelming emotions, or examine how cultural and family expectations affect you. We will also check in regularly about what is and is not working so that therapy remains collaborative and focused on the changes that matter to you.

More information on payments and coverage

If you plan to use insurance, we will ask you to complete a self-verification of benefits form before your first session so you can confirm your specific behavioral health coverage, including your deductible, copay or coinsurance, and any other plan requirements. Insurance benefits vary by plan, and verification of benefits does not guarantee payment by your insurance company. You will also receive additional intake and billing paperwork through our secure client portal. All required forms, including insurance information and a payment method on file, must be completed before your first appointment. Our team can help with general billing questions, but we encourage you to contact your insurance company directly if you have questions about your individual coverage or expected out-of-pocket costs.
