Priscilla McAllister, LMHC

Priscilla McAllister, LMHC

Psychotherapist
1301 Riverplace Blvd, Jacksonville, FL
I have an extensive history of working with high-risk infants, young children, detained adolescents, and young adults who present with trauma, co-occurring disorders, and significant economic barriers. I believe parenting and family healing are vital to successful outcomes when working with young children and adolescents. Having always worked in child welfare, becoming a licensed mental health counselor was a natural transition for me. I earned my Master's in Mental Health Counseling from Nova Southeastern University. I have worked for several agencies, including the Department of Children and Families and other organizations focused on child advocacy, resilience, and social-emotional protection. I am trained in infant mental health and nurturing parenting, and I am rostered in Florida to provide child-parent psychotherapy. Over the years, I have gained extensive experience working with parents to support bonding and attachment, as well as helping their children achieve developmental milestones. I am most excited that communities of color and the LGBTQ+ population are finally being heard, and that research is increasingly directed toward a clearer understanding of how race and systemic systems have impacted the mental health of marginalized groups.

More information on payments and coverage

Payment is due after each session and will be charged with your card on file for any portion of patient responsibility. Receipts will be provided at the time of the charge. This typically takes place 2-4 weeks after the session, once your insurance has had a chance to process the claim. We try our best to verify eligibility, but it is ultimately your responsibility to check coverage and out-of-pocket costs for services. For out-of-network visits, you will be billed at the provider’s self-pay rate, and we can provide an invoice for you to submit to your insurance for potential out-of-network reimbursement based on your plan’s benefits.
