Getting to know Rachael Fryrear
Hello my name is Rachael Fryrear , a Licensed Professional Counselor, and a Certified Addictions Specialist. I have over two decades of clinical practice working with children, teens and adults. My experience includes individual and group therapy, at home-based settings, school, inpatient/residential settings, and various correctional environments.
I earned my Master’s Degree in Clinical Counseling and Criminology at Regis University in Denver, CO. I am awaiting my certificate for my completion of Phase I and II in Brain Spotting (BSP). Brain Spotting is an extension of Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), however BSP is a technique that allows the individual to process trauma without needing to re-live the traumatic event(s). I also offer Acudetox treatment, a 5-point auricular (ear) acupuncture modality to manage and decrease cravings, withdrawal symptoms, relapse episodes, anxiety, pain and insomnia.
In therapy, I am skilled in using cognitive and dialectical behavioral skills to change unhealthy thinking patterns, practice emotional regulation, and encourage distress tolerance skill building. My practice also includes Solution Focused therapy to support client’s strengths using positive psychology to promote solutions for healthy outcomes. My focus is on guiding and supporting individuals in ways that are unique to them in order to promote healthy and happy living.
