Rachel Alber, LCSW

Psychotherapist
CO
Hello, I'm Rachel. It feels so rewarding to me to have the honor of supporting individuals in removing barriers that keep them from having a healthy and fulfilling life. I specialize in counseling individuals to move through blocks in their lives through personal exploration of past traumatic experiences that may have developed into limiting beliefs. These limiting beliefs that develop out of traumatic experiences can become the lens we see the world through, affecting our lives in many ways, from our relationships to our sense of safety in the world. I specialize in trauma-informed therapy and I am a trained EMDR therapist. EMDR therapy has been extensively studied with ample evidence showing it is a highly effective therapy for reducing symptoms of PTSD, anxiety, phobias, chronic pain, and much more. Many individuals have experienced trauma to some degree. There are all degrees of trauma, from small experiences to severe, and they all can create blocks in our life, due to our natural defense system that helps us to cope in the moments of trauma. If you are finding that how you have been coping in your life is making it hard for you to move forward and you would like a natural mental health therapy to help relieve intrusive nervous system responses or negative thinking patterns, EMDR therapy may be a safe mental health therapy to support your personal health and healing. I will work with you to identify past disturbing experiences that disrupt your present-day quality of life. Together, you and I will work to support you in balancing your nervous system from trauma. Along with EMDR therapy, I include Cognitive Behavioral Therapy to promote cognitive awareness, and mindfulness to encourage inner guidance, for your mental health support. I hold a Master's in Social Work (MSW) and am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW). My approach is deeply rooted in evidence-based practices and a compassionate understanding of each individual's unique journey. If you feel that my therapeutic approach would be helpful for you and your mental health healing, then please contact me to have a 15-minute phone call consultation to see if we are a good fit to work together on your healing journey. I look forward to talking with you.
