Rachel Brody, LCSW

Rachel Brody, LCSW

Psychotherapist
30 N. Michigan Ave, Chicago, IL
I work with individuals facing a variety of concerns, including depression, anxiety, relationship challenges, trauma, life transitions, sexuality, and gender. Often, the reasons people seek therapy are harder to pinpoint—perhaps feelings of stuckness, loneliness, distance, confusion, or that life doesn’t look as expected. Whatever your specific concern, people work with me to deeply understand themselves, create more meaningful connections with others, and learn new ways of coping with their pain and life’s challenges. I hold a Master’s in Social Work from the University of Chicago, which informs my compassionate and thoughtful approach to therapy.

What should a new client know about working with you?

When you book an appointment through ZocDoc, I will be in touch for a short phone consultation before we meet for the scheduled appointment. This way, we can begin the ongoing process of making sure we are a good fit for each other. If we continue to work together, I typically see clients weekly, at the same time each week. Please note that I don't do bi-weekly meetings, and that the appointments times I have listed on ZocDoc are the times I currently have available for recurring appointments.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

I can help you relate to your challenges in new ways. We will try to slow down, notice and be curious. We will work to understand the root of what is troubling you, how you've been dealing with it, and what gets in the way of change. We will strive to listen deeply and respectfully, creating space for new and unheard parts of yourself to emerge.
