Psychotherapist
130 Maple Ave, Suite 3D, Red Bank, NJ
The provider is a “Licensed Professional Counselor" and their license number is 37PC01132800 Hi! I'm Rachel. I am licensed therapist specializing in treating adults with anxiety, and I also support women in their perinatal and postpartum journey. I work with young to middle aged men and women who experience overthinking, a sense of disconnection from themselves or others, and overall fearfulness. I work with mothers who are pregnant, postpartum, or adjusting to motherhood, as well as those struggling with intense feelings of anxiety, overwhelm and emotional burnout. Many of my clients are high functioning and capable, yet internally feel stuck in cycles of worry, overthinking, and pressure to keep everything together. You may feel constantly on edge, mentally heavy, or not like yourself. For mothers, this can also include postpartum depression or anxiety, intrusive thoughts, guilt, or the emotional weight of adjusting to a new identity. My approach is very warm, collaborative, and grounded in evidenced based practices like dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT) and mindfulness based techniques. I focus on helping you understand whats driving your anxiety, break unhelpful patterns, and develop practical tools so you can feel more in control and more like yourself! Further, this work goes beyond just talk therapy- it's about creating meaningful, lasting change in your daily experience of life. I strive to create a space that feels supportive, nonjudgmental, and down-to-earth. Whether you're navigating anxiety on its own or alongside the challenges of motherhood, we'll work together to help you feel more grounded, confident, and supported. I offer virtual therapy and work with clients across New Jersey.

What should a new client know about working with you?

You don't have to have everything figured about before you start therapy! I meet you where you are and help you make sense of what you're feeling while building tools to navigate anxiety and feel more like yourself again. I am on your side.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

In the first few sessions, we are just getting to know each other. I keep these early conversations pretty light in general (unless of course you are eager to get into some deeper material). During this time, you can get a feel for what it is like to work with me. If you decide to continue, then we will slowly work through what comes up for you, session by session. I start the sessions by inquiring about what your week has been like, or what has been on your mind, and we go from there. I'll be the listening ear and the steady rock you may need. I will also be happy to teach you various skills (most are rooted in DBT) if you would like assistance with navigating distress, relationship issues, or emotional upheaval. I have been told that I am "shock proof" and I take pride in that. Nothing is off limits in our sessions together; I am here for it all because I, too, am a human being.
