Psychotherapist

I’m so happy you’re here! Whether you’ve been to therapy before or this is your first time, seeking support and finding a therapist can feel daunting. Knowing this, it is my mission to create a therapeutic environment in which you feel safe doing the challenging work of self-exploration. Whether you’re navigating anxiety, trauma, shame, challenging relationships, or anything in between – therapy offers a nonjudgmental space in which you can work through some of life’s greatest challenges. Not only that, it is a space that is dedicated to you and only you. I understand that pursuing therapeutic support can be a very vulnerable decision. But know this: leaning into vulnerability is an act of bravery. So it is my hope that you are able to see the great courage you possess just by being here.

What should a new client know about working with you?

My therapeutic approach is a blend of process-oriented dialogue and practical skill-building. I seek to balance the deep, introspective work of therapy with humor and compassion. I recognize that I will never know more about my clients than they know about themselves, so I enter each session with curiosity, humility, and the intent to offer guidance while empowering clients to make the changes they wish to see in their lives. Many people enter my office feeling as though they are simply unable to cope with what life has thrown at them. No matter the cause of this overwhelm, I utilize a trauma-informed approach with each client and personalize sessions based on their individual circumstances. I consider it a great privilege to walk alongside folks as they learn how to better navigate their relationships with others and themselves. Working toward that end, I help clients become more aware of the connection between their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors; recognize patterns that no longer serve them; and identify solutions that align with their goals.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

Through my work with the foster and adoptive communities, I have developed a sound understanding of attachment and relational approaches that promote healthy communication and connection. This allows me to aid parents in developing skills to better understand their children’s emotional experiences and relate to them more fully. In individual work, I use this knowledge to help clients deepen their awareness of their early childhood attachments and how these attachments impact their adult relationships. No matter their reason(s) for seeking therapy, I am committed to creating a warm environment in which my clients feel heard, understood, supported, and valued.
