Rachel Martin, LISW

Psychotherapist
SC
Hi there, I'm Rachel! Hello! My name is Rachel Martin, and I am a licensed clinical social worker in South Carolina and Washington state. I earned my Master's in Social Work from Washington University in St. Louis. I work with kids, parents, and families to improve relationships, manage life stressors, and build happy and healthy lives. My approach I use several therapy modalities including Parent-Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT). I like working with clients to establish goals and utilize the type of therapy that will help achieve them. My focus I love working with kids and parents! I often see kids struggling with ADHD and enjoy helping improve executive functioning and peer relationships. I love supporting parents through the struggles of raising kids and frequently use PCIT to help with managing challenging behaviors. My communication style I strive to create a warm and inviting space during sessions. I frequently use humor and try not to take things too seriously. I want my clients (both kids and adults) to be comfortable during sessions and to look forward to our time together like I do! My journey to mental healthcare I worked in several non-profits before becoming a therapist. I became frustrated with the lack of services specifically for kids and families and decided that becoming a therapist was the best way to meet that need. My goals for you During our initial session, I will ask to hear about what brings you to therapy and the struggles you're experiencing. I will then suggest goals based on what you have shared, and together we will prioritize what goals to work on and adjust as needed. I let my clients set the pace and will always check in to make sure your needs are being met.
