Psychotherapist
3630 FM2181, Hickory Creek, TX
I help adults move from surviving to thriving by addressing the mind, body, and relational impact of past experiences. Whether you are navigating a major life transition, feeling stuck in a cycle of stress, or carrying the weight of past experiences, you don’t have to manage it alone. At Orchid Counseling, we move beyond basic coping skills to offer deeper resolution for adults (18-65). We recognize that whether your pain comes from a specific event or the cumulative stress of daily life, it impacts your mind, body, and relationships. Our focus is on providing a safe, collaborative space where you can effectively process what's holding you back, helping you move from simply "getting by" to truly thriving. Both in person and virtual availability.

Getting to know Rachel Pavlov

What should a new client know about working with you?

You can expect our work together to feel collaborative, grounded, and paced in a way that feels safe for you. I’m direct but compassionate, and I don’t believe in one-size-fits-all therapy. I’ll help you understand the parts of yourself that show up in stress, anxiety, or old patterns, and we’ll move at a speed that feels manageable—not overwhelming. I use a mind-body approach, including Internal Family Systems, trauma-informed practices, and emotional regulation skills. You don’t need to be “prepared” or have everything figured out before we meet, just show up as you are. My role is to help you feel more understood, more in control of your internal world, and more connected to yourself.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

In our first session, we’ll get a clear picture of what’s bringing you in and what you want to change. I ask thoughtful questions, help you identify patterns, and make sure you feel heard, not rushed. From there, we begin exploring the parts of you that carry stress, fear, shame, or old survival strategies, using approaches like Internal Family Systems, trauma-informed therapy, and mind-body regulation skills. A typical session is a mix of reflection, gentle exploration, and practical tools you can use between sessions. You won’t be expected to dive into anything before you’re ready. My job is to guide you, help you stay grounded, and make sure the work feels safe and effective. Over time, clients often notice they’re more regulated, more clear-headed, and more able to respond to life instead of reacting to it.
