Rachel Portlock, LPC

Psychotherapist
TX
My name is Rachel Portlock, and I have been counseling individuals for over six years. I am both a Professional School Counselor and a Licensed Professional Counselor. My experience working with children, adolescents, college students, young adults, and adults has given me a unique understanding of the challenges people face during life's many transitions.\n\nI believe that counseling should be a safe, supportive, and judgment-free space where you feel heard, valued, and empowered. Whether you are struggling with anxiety, stress, self-esteem, motivation, relationships, life transitions, academic pressures, career decisions, or simply feeling stuck, I am here to help. Together, we will identify your strengths, explore areas for growth, and create meaningful goals that align with the life you want to live.\n\nMy counseling style is warm, collaborative, and tailored to your individual needs. I utilize Solution-Focused Therapy, Person-Centered Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Mindfulness-based approaches to help clients develop practical skills, challenge unhelpful thought patterns, increase self-awareness, and build confidence. I believe that every person already possesses strengths and abilities that can be leveraged to create positive change.\n\nI have extensive experience helping children and teens navigate social, emotional, and academic challenges while also supporting college students and adults through important life transitions, career development, relationship concerns, and personal growth. No matter your age or stage of life, my goal is to help you discover the tools, resilience, and confidence needed to thrive.\n\nSeeking support is a courageous first step, and you don't have to navigate life's challenges alone. I would be honored to walk alongside you as you work toward healing, growth, and becoming the best version of yourself.\n\nI look forward to joining you on your journey.

More information on payments and coverage

Payment is due after each session and will be charged with your card on file for any portion of patient responsibility. Receipts will be provided at the time of the charge. This typically takes place 2-4 weeks after the session, once your insurance has had a chance to process the claim. We try our best to verify eligibility, but it is ultimately your responsibility to check coverage and out-of-pocket costs for services. For out-of-network visits, you will be billed at the provider's self-pay rate, and we can provide an invoice for you to submit to your insurance for potential out-of-network reimbursement based on your plan's benefits.
