Rachel joined St. Charles Advanced Therapy as a Licensed Professional Counselor specializing in anxiety, depression, trauma, adjustment disorders, and self-esteem issues. Rachel works with adolescents, adults, couples and families. Rachel began her professional career in real estate and quickly realized it was her compassion and attention to her clients’ needs that helped her excel at her job. Her strengths were in listening, advising and problem solving. The focus of her career was always the person, not the business. So, she decided to switch gears and returned to college as a non-traditional student earning her B.A. in Psychology and M.A. in Clinical Psychology, successively, from Roosevelt University. Since Roosevelt places a strong emphasis on social justice, she has extensive training in diversity and women’s issues, as well as, experience with a wide variety of clients from all walks of life. She prides herself on being sensitive to and passionate about issues facing marginalized communities. Rachel uses an eclectic blend of treatment therapies based on each individual client’s needs, including utilizing a psychodynamic approach mixed with CBT, DBT, and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). She enjoys working with adolescents and adults, as well as individuals, couples, families and groups. In her spare time, she enjoys traveling, going to concerts, entertaining, watching the Blackhawks and the Bears, and spending time with her family.
