“I have been working with Raelene for several years. I have always found her to be easyto work with, understanding, and very helpful in navigating daily life as well as the big ups and downs. She is thoughtful in her responses and provides many helpful tools to apply to different tasks that are difficult to manage. I have found her advice helpful for myself and my family. We have all benefited from my time working with Raelene. She can help you appreciate the lighter side of life as an individual and as part of a family, but she is also able to coach and support you where you need it most during the worst of times. I highly recommend working with Raelene. She had been invaluable to me and my family. ”

Getting to know Raelene Faught

I am a down to earth, single parent, professional counselor. In my more than 10 years of practice I have learned to blend professional training and practical tips to help people move from stuck to unstuck. I earned my Master's Degree in Community Counseling from Argosy University in Chicago. I have pursued additional clinical training in treating children and families with attachment and play based modalities as well as treating trauma with both compassion and evidence based practices. I am committed to improving mental health and promoting the growth of every client I see. Whether our work is short or long term, we will define measurable goals and move at a comfortable pace for you.

What should a new client know about working with you?

My approach starts out as open ended. I'll ask what you hope to gain from therapy, what experiences you have already had with a therapist, and whether it is more important for you to have a safe space to explore concerns, or if you need direction and strategies for specific issues.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

A typical session begins with revisiting any goals we had set from the previous week, whether they were easy to meet or if we need to re-consider them. Most of the time, the conversation moves forward from there as we either look backwards at things in your history that get in the way of you acting and thinking how you want, or we look forward at potential barriers and problem solve for the week ahead.
