Hi, my name is Ralph Porter. My wife and I live in beautiful Boerne, Texas. We are both initially from the midwest. I am a veteran of the United States Air Force. My counseling approach is grounded in what is known as Gestalt therapy, of which I have formal training.
Gestalt therapy is one of the best ways to deepen your experience of self and become more aware of how you are experiencing the world in the here and now. Awareness gives us the ability to make choices to create something in our life that you never thought was possible.
I hold a Masters of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor, Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor, and National Certified Counselor

Would not recommend for current ongoing grief, rather more suited for those ready to move on in their lives past an event. I got more relief out of the twenty minutes of crying I did after the session ended than I did in the session. Very abrasive and dismissive.

We didn't click much, not the best listener. make sure to do deep research in the type of therapy he provides, wasn't a good fit for me. Seems the type of therapy he provides is that if you have past trauma do not let it affect you, take control and push on, take responsibility in your decisions be in the present and push forward with your control. Which isn't what I was looking for. I have past trauma that is affecting me today that I havnt confronted yet.

Ralph has a unique style of conversation that allowed me to let go of what was pulling me away from the present.
