What should a new client know about working with you?

Therapy is a time to reflect on both the positive aspects and the current challenges in our lives. With over 30 years of experience empowering individuals, couples and families to make positive changes, I am ready to support clients in their next steps. I utilize a variety of techniques, including CBT and DBT, to help this process. I specialize in working with adolescents and young adults transitioning to college or a work environment. I have over 30 years experience working with individuals on the autism spectrum or with ADHD.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

I listen. I believe in my clients and in their capacity to make positive changes for themselves. I let the client lead and identify their gaps. Through questioning, envisioning options, and noticing patterns, together we develop possibilities and hope. When appropriate, I utilize role playing and involve family members or others who can assist the client to achieve their goals.
