Getting to know Randi Garfinkel

For 20+ years, I’ve supported older teens and adults navigating a wide range of challenges—including relationship issues, depression, anxiety, self-esteem, trauma, religious conflict, and LGBTQ+ identity concerns. I also work with young adults and professionals who are striving to better understand themselves and build a stronger, more grounded sense of identity. I specialize in working with men who were taught to stay strong and suppress emotions but now want to develop deeper emotional awareness and more meaningful relationships. I provide a supportive, nonjudgmental space for anyone experiencing emotional pain, feeling stuck, or simply needing to feel heard and understood. I earned my Master’s in Social Work from Yeshiva University’s Wurzweiler School of Social Work and deeply understand the stigma that can come with seeking help. Reaching out is not a weakness—it’s a powerful act of courage. If you’re here, you’ve already taken a brave first step, and I’m honored to walk alongside you. In addition to therapy, I offer clinical supervision for social workers and counselors working toward licensure. I especially enjoy supporting new clinicians and seasoned therapists who want to deepen their self-awareness, clinical confidence, and personal growth. Therapy with me is warm, direct, and grounded in helping you feel more like yourself — without shame, confusion, or pressure to be someone you’re not. Reach out for a session today!

What should a new client know about working with you?

Many of us struggle through the challenging times in life and seeking treatment is often a courageous first step towards change. My goal is to provide compassionate, trustworthy, and nonjudgmental support, as we partner together on a journey of coping, healing, and thriving. I believe the therapist-client relationship is most important, therefore I strive to establish an honest and warm working relationship with each client. In doing so, together we can then explore your relationships and other patterns in your life. That exploration leads to insights and understanding, geared toward discovering new ideas and finding solutions.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

You are the expert to your own life. Our first few session will be about building trust and getting to better understand who you are, what your strengths are, and what approach will work best for you. Sessions will leave you empowered and confident in your ability to handle any and all of life's challenges. You will have a stronger sense of self and a deeper awareness of your strengths as you continue to gain skills and add more tools to your toolbox.

As I keep working with Randi on a weekly basis the session just keep getting better even as the work gets more real. I finally have a sense of hope again that I can make the changes that I need to make and so much of that is because even when I dont believe in myself I see how Randi believes in me. She is so not judgmental and creates a sense of safety for me to embrace being vulnerable in. I have made progress in areas I never thought I would already and look forward to seeing what more is to come as I continue my sessions with her.

Great therapist. Good balance between listening well, giving good feedback, and giving me helpful techniques. I like how easy the virtual appointments are too and Randi made it feel like we were in the room together.
I think Randi is an amazing therapist. I think she listens that. I also think she gives the feedback that is needed for you to evolve into a better version of yourself. With myself, I like I like that directness she is able to give me . This is established in the very beginning of what I was looking for, and when I was needed, she did take the time to understand. I took the timeThis is established in the very beginning of what I was looking for, and when I was needed, she did take the time to understand. I took the time to implement what we discussed . Randi really cares. Really is a very good therapist. Highly recommend !
First time starting therapy and I'm happy to have found a great therapist like Randi from the beginning. She's incredibly personable and empathetic, and creates an environment without shame or judgement. Really takes the time to listen and helps you think about situations in a new light, and gives you the tools you need to approach them more confidently in the future. Very professional and respectful of your time and scheduling. If you're nervous about starting therapy or don't know what to expect, I highly recommend starting your journey with Randi.
I can’t say enough good things about my experience with Randi. I’ve been seeing Randi for over a year now, and the growth and healing I’ve experienced in that time has been truly life changing. From the very first session, I felt truly seen, heard, and supported. Randi creates a space that feels safe, nonjudgmental, and full of empathy — which made it much easier for me to open up and work through things I hadn’t been able to talk about before. Randi balances deep compassion with gentle but honest insights. I’ve had moments of clarity in sessions that have genuinely changed how I view myself and my relationships. Whether we’re exploring patterns, working through anxiety, or just checking in on how I’m coping with day to day stress, I always leave our sessions feeling more grounded. If you’re looking for a therapist who is thoughtful, professional, and truly invested in your growth, I wholeheartedly recommend Randi.
Working withRandi has made such a difference in my life. I’ve grown so much since we started—she’s helped me understand myself better, work through tough stuff, and feel more grounded. I always feel supported and heard in our sessions. I’m really grateful for her and would absolutely recommend her to anyone looking for a great therapist.
I've been seeing my therapist for about 3 years and she has helped me break the cycle of intergenerational trauma that goes back to my grandparents. She's also helped with my anxiety & depression as I have always had a kind of a phobia of people & the outside world. I've improved my relationships at work, gotten better at taking criticism (and recognizing when the other person is approaching things wrong), & have started meeting new friends through the internet.
I have been seeing Randi now for over 2 years and she has helped me grow in ways that I wouldn't even have imagined when I first began. I've been dealing with personal issues regarding anxiety, managing emotions, interpersonal family relationships, self improvement, and much more! Randi has helped me so much in improving all of the items listed above. She has helped me feel like I have become a better person for not only myself, but my wife, and others that I value! I would suggest Randi to anyone who needs someone who will not only listen, but, try many different techniques to help you understand and conceptualize what can be done to improve your mental health!
I have been seeing Randi for 2 years now and can say it has been wonderful! She has helped me grow and set healthier boundaries and navigate challenging situations. Her flexibility when my schedule changes is greatly appreciated as well!
Randi strikes the perfect balance of being professional and relatable. She works together with you to solve your problems and never tries to push any dogma.
Randi has been my therapist for a while now, and she is absolutely amazing. She comes to every session on time and addresses all of my needs in a warm and welcoming way. She has helped me deal with the struggles of life, as well as helped me to enjoy the peaks of my life. I would highly recommend this provider.
I have had many therapists over the years but there is something different about Randi. I have always felt supported by her but she also encourages me to better myself and step out of my comfort zone. I am in such a better place since starting my sessions with her and I owe her so much!
Randi is amazing. She listens, spends time to understand me and is able to provide me with the tools that I need to tackle real issues. It is clear that she really cares.
Randi is an amazing therapist. She's patient and supportive and has helped me make some difficult decisions. I love the fact that her sessions are online, face to face and there's no need to go out driving anywhere. I would highly recommend Randi to help anyone who needs a caring person to talk to.
Randi’s emphasis on empowerment and self-compassion help pave the way for optimal personal growth and development. She creates a warm and welcoming environment that allows clients to feel safe and respected. If you're looking for a therapist who listens without rushing, who meets you where you're at, and who provides unwavering support with an open heart, Randi is a great fit.
Great therapist! I am new to therapy and Randi helped me feel comfortable and understood. She has quickly shown to be a trustworthy person and has made me feel hopeful that therapy can help.

Randi balances validation and empathy with focus and clarity about goals. She is responsive and her experience shines through. I feel privileged to have had hundreds of sessions with her.
Randi is so amazing! She was extremely prompt and flexible when scheduling an appointment. It made searching for therapy so easy. I would highly recommend scheduling your next appt with Randi or the Beacon team. Lasty, she's so understanding, professional and most of all, helpful
Randi is so great. It's hard for a guy to talk about stuff, but she put me at ease, never judged, and allowed me to be me and talk about anything. I feel much more confident after a few sessions with her and hope I can keep working with her for a long time!
It was a great conversation and connection.
