**I cannot see clients with Medicaid Insurance** Feeling stuck in emotional pain or disconnected from your faith? Do spiritual truisms leave you feeling unheard? Others in your faith community may not know how to help or understand. My name is Randi, and I empower others to remove barriers of trauma and stress that block spiritual growth and connection. Our past experiences-especially those from childhood-can hinder our ability to feel close to God and hear His voice, sometimes for many years. I'm passionate about uncovering these wounds so you can connect more fully in your faith. I hold a Master's in Social Work from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, which equips me to provide compassionate, evidence-based care. If you are not a person of faith, I can still offer effective interventions for healing from trauma, stress, depression, and anxiety in a way that feels comfortable for you. The beautiful thing about these approaches is that they work for people of all different backgrounds.

What should a new client know about working with you?

I use evidence-based trauma interventions including EMDR, IFS, and somatic therapy to determine if long-standing struggles with anxiety, depression, anger, and disconnection are rooted in past stressors. These interventions are considered "bottom-up" which means they target lower centers of the brain involved in subconscious survival and emotional reactions. These kinds of reactions happen so quickly often we don't notice them until we have already said that hurtful thing or made that poor choice. These reactions can also be unaffected by years of "talk therapy" which is a "top-down" approach aimed at strengthening the frontal lobe using reason and logic. What we know from research around trauma and stress is that the frontal lobe can often be impaired from the effects of chronically high cortisol, making the "top-down" approaches less effective.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

At the start of treatment I tend to ask a lot of questions as well as reflect back to you what I am hearing. It is so important for us to get off to a good start, and so I want to make sure your priorities are my priorities. I share assessment results as a way to empower you to make the best decisions for yourself. As a highly sensitive person, I am very good at attuning to emotional states and checking in when I feel like something isn't working for you. I really aim for the end of our sessions to feel like a relief and like "someone finally got it".
