Getting to know Raschell Bailey

Hi, I'm Rush, a Licensed Professional Counselor since 2018 with a Master’s in Mental Health Counseling from Argosy University. I work in the Surprise area, where I have an office, and also see clients statewide through telehealth. I work with adolescents and adults in underserved, oppressed communities to help increase feelings of authenticity, validation, safety, and celebration. I utilize Expressive Arts, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, and many other interventions to reduce symptoms and increase functionality. My approach My approach to therapy is to liberate, affirm, and increase cultural authenticity in clients who feel invisible. I help clients find their self-worth through the creation of boundaries. I support clients in finding independence and individuality by utilizing a culturally specific understanding. My focus I strongly believe that representation matters! I think outside the box and incorporate creative alternatives to keep therapy challenging, refreshing, and lively. I honor and affirm the BIPOC and LGBTQ communities through Liberation Psychology and am trained in writing gender-affirming letters, Animal Assisted Therapy, and ADHD specialization treatment. My communication style Raised in the South and a former theatre kid, my approach is energetic, spirited, deep, realistic, and solution-focused. My communication style is relaxed, accommodating, and expressive. My journey to mental healthcare Growing up as a tall Black girl in the South, I frequently witnessed how people outside the majority were treated and how that treatment negatively impacted their confidence and ability to function at their highest potential. I wanted to help. I knew my calling was to create safe spaces for people to be their authentic selves and to know the world is better with them in it. My goals for you I approach goal setting by first identifying what the client’s values are and working together to create a journey toward living within those values.
