Rasheed is licensed in both New York State as well as Massachusetts. He is a New York State Licensed Master Social Worker; and a Licensed Certified Social Worker in the state of Massachusetts. He holds Masters degrees in both Social Work and Psychology; having completed a Masters of Science in Psychology from the University of Phoenix. Born and raised in New York City, Rasheed became a Capital Region transplant while obtaining his Bachelor’s degree in Liberal Arts from the University at Albany. There, Rasheed also completed his Masters in Social Work from SUNY Albany's School of Social Welfare. Rasheed's career as a mental health professional includes advanced training with over 10 years of both direct care and clinical experience while working with inpatient and outpatient adult clients; adolescents and their families; and forensic populations. This multifaceted view of societal systems and client's needs and challenges has informed Rasheed's clinical approach. Rasheed believes in the importance of building rapport, providing a supportive and authentic environment, and empowering clients to ultimately help themselves. Rasheed specializes in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy. He understands the importance of exploring Narratives, including our core beliefs, self-talk, our personal vs. societal expectations, and how these items work to shape our views, experiences and reactions.
