Raveen Florence, LCSW

Psychotherapist
FL
Hi, I'm Rae-a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in the state of Florida with a Master's in Social Work from Valdosta State University. I pride myself on creating a therapeutic, nonjudgmental environment where clients can feel safe and free to express themselves. I enjoy seeing my clients make positive changes, and I continually encourage and motivate them toward reaching their goals. My sessions typically focus on helping clients work toward healing and personal growth. I believe that seeking therapy is an opportunity for growth and demonstrates a true sign of strength, dedication, and perseverance. A large part of my sessions also focuses on helping clients incorporate a newfound self-care routine, as I have found that with many clients, a lack of self-care leads to other issues. I take a holistic approach to healing, focusing on the whole person-mental, physical, spiritual, emotional, and more. When I am not working and helping others, I enjoy spending time at the beach, listening to R&B, sharing great experiences with family and friends, and practicing self-care.

What should a new client know about working with you?

During our first session or two, I will learn about you. I will get a better sense of what is going on, why you are seeking therapy and what your expectations and goals are for therapy. I will explain processes and procedures including safety planning and emergency procedures. We will create treatment goals and begin to work towards those goals. We will utilize several techniques in the session, but I will also assign homework and other tasks to be utilized outside of sessions. We will focus on processing emotions, and learning healthy coping skills and ways to modify and change negative thinking patterns and unhelpful behaviors. Our sessions may involve tears, laughs, some tough realizations and accountability but it's all with the intent of healing.
