Psychotherapist

Hello, I'm Raymond. I'm a Licensed Professional Counselor and Licensed Addiction Counselor with a Master's degree in mental health, which I earned in 1993. My journey in mental health began after a fulfilling 30-year career with the Colorado Department of Corrections (CDOC), where I retired in 2016 as the manager of a sub-program. One of the most influential roles I held was in forensics for the CDOC, which inspired me to complete my education in mental health. I also managed the maximum administrative segregation portion of a forensic prison, gaining invaluable experience in dealing with complex cases and challenging environments. After retiring, I transitioned back to community mental health, providing group and individual sessions to halfway house inmates and working as a mentor and mental health coach with adolescents. Currently, I am involved in Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT) and continuously expanding my horizons, driven by a message that resonates with my clients. My therapeutic approach is reality-based and structured, utilizing techniques such as Brief Therapy intervention. I firmly believe that it is the small things done consistently that lead to significant change and well-being. We live in the moment, and I encourage my clients to strive for positive micromovement, making incremental progress towards their goals. I specialize in a wide range of areas, including addiction, adolescent and teen mental/behavioral health, anger management, antisocial behavior, anxiety, bipolar disorder, depression, eating disorders, family relationships, grief/bereavement, intimate/romantic relationships, life transitions, medical issues/physical health, PTSD, sex/intimacy issues, sleep disorders, spirituality, stress, and trauma. Whether you're dealing with a specific issue or seeking general support, I am here to help. On a personal note, I am married with two adult children and three wonderful grandchildren.
