Hello, I’m Ray. I grew up on a farm on the Navajo Reservation in New Mexico, where I developed a deep respect for resilience, hard work, and community. In 2000, I joined the U.S. Army and served honorably until 2012. After my service, I moved to San Antonio, Texas, where I earned my master’s degree in counseling from Wayland Baptist University in 2015. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) and Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor (LCDC), and I’ve been in practice since 2019. My journey in mental health has been both diverse and rewarding. I’ve had the privilege of working with individuals from all walks of life — including those in the criminal justice system, youth in CPS custody, active-duty service members and veterans, and individuals facing addiction or recovery challenges. My professional experience also includes inpatient psychiatric care and trauma-informed clinical practice. I specialize in helping clients navigate Borderline Personality Disorder, addiction, trauma, PTSD, dissociative disorders, and OCD. My approach focuses on building a safe, non-judgmental space where clients can explore the roots of pain, loss, shame, regret, and guilt that often stem from early life experiences. I believe these wounds can manifest in self-defeating behaviors or coping patterns — but they can also be transformed through insight and self-compassion. I don’t claim to know exactly what you’re going through, and I don’t offer hollow reassurance. Instead, I meet you where you are — helping you face the difficult moments and move through them toward healing. As your counselor, I see myself as a guide and catalyst for motivation, clarity, and emotional growth. Outside of my professional life, I continue to draw from the lessons of my upbringing and military service, which keep me grounded in humility and purpose. If you’re ready to begin your journey toward recovery and self-understanding, I’m here to walk that path with you.
