Psychotherapist

Hi I’m Rebecca Beebe, Licensed Professional Counselor and founder of Yellow Rose Counseling in San Antonio Texas. I specialize in working with teens, young adults, and parents who are done feeling stuck but not sure what the next step looks like. Many clients come to me because they’re overwhelmed by ADHD struggles, school or life stress, family conflict, anxiety, or motivational blocks that keep them from moving forward in life. Therapy with me isn’t about lengthy, aimless conversation or feeling misunderstood. It’s structured, goal-oriented, and practical. I help you develop real tools for emotional regulation, clearer communication, stronger follow-through, and confidence that lasts outside the therapy room. Together we build plans you can actually use every week so progress isn’t vague. Your sessions will be measurable, noticeable, and empowering. I know deciding to start therapy can feel daunting. That’s why I offer a free consultation so you can ask questions, describe what you’re dealing with, and determine if we’re the right match before you commit. If you are a teen feeling overwhelmed, a young adult struggling to build momentum, or a parent trying to reduce tension and improve connection at home, I’ll meet you where you are. My approach blends empathy with accountability so you leave every session a bit more confident, a bit more grounded, and a bit closer to the life you want.

What should a new client know about working with you?

When you work with me, you can expect therapy to be intentional, focused, and practical. I am not a passive therapist who simply listens and nods. I am engaged, direct, and invested in helping you create measurable progress. Our first sessions are about clarity. We identify what is actually not working, what patterns are repeating, and what goals matter most to you. From there, we build a clear plan. I integrate evidence-based approaches for anxiety, ADHD, emotional regulation, and family stress, but I tailor them to fit your real life. Sessions include skill building, mindset shifts, and specific strategies you can apply immediately outside of therapy. I balance empathy with accountability. You will feel supported, but you will also be challenged. Growth requires both safety and honest reflection. If avoidance, people pleasing, perfectionism, or self doubt are keeping you stuck, we will address it directly. My role is to help you build confidence, emotional resilience, and follow-through so that you do not need therapy forever. For teens and young adults, I focus on strengthening independence, emotional awareness, and practical coping tools. For parents, I provide guidance that reduces conflict while increasing clarity and consistency at home. You should also know that progress is collaborative. I value feedback and adjust our work based on what is and is not helping. My goal is for you to leave sessions with insight and concrete next steps, not just temporary relief. If you are ready to move from feeling overwhelmed to feeling capable, we will work well together.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

My process is collaborative, structured, and goal focused from the very beginning. We start with a comprehensive intake session where I gather background information, explore current stressors, and assess symptoms related to anxiety, ADHD, emotional regulation, mood, and family dynamics. I want to understand not just what is happening, but the patterns behind it. Together, we identify specific goals so you know exactly what we are working toward. After the intake, sessions typically follow a consistent format. We begin with a brief check-in to assess progress, current challenges, and any changes since the last session. From there, we focus on one or two priority areas. Sessions are active and practical. Depending on your needs, this may include cognitive behavioral strategies, emotional regulation skill building, executive functioning support, communication tools, or problem-solving exercises. You will leave with clear takeaways and strategies to practice between sessions. For teens, sessions often include building emotional vocabulary, increasing frustration tolerance, and strengthening independence and follow-through. When appropriate, I involve parents to support consistency and reduce conflict at home. For young adults, we focus on confidence, boundaries, decision-making, and reducing anxiety-driven avoidance. Progress is reviewed regularly. If something is not working, we adjust. Therapy should feel purposeful, not vague. My goal is to help you develop skills that create lasting change so you are not dependent on therapy long term. You can expect a balance of support, structure, and accountability in every session.
