Rebecca Brasch, MS

Psychotherapist
UT
Hi there, I'm Rebecca! My name is Rebecca Brasch. I’m a licensed mental health counselor in Florida, Utah, Montana, Washington, and Idaho, with more licenses coming soon. I earned my Master’s in Mental Health Counseling from Walden University. I’ve been a therapist for 11 years and enjoy working with a variety of clients and diagnoses. My approach I have an eclectic therapeutic approach, using different theoretical methods to best meet your unique needs. I frequently pull techniques from cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavior therapy, acceptance and commitment therapy, solution-focused brief therapy, and mindfulness-based cognitive therapies. My focus I enjoy working with clients from adolescents to seniors. I frequently work with individuals experiencing challenges including life changes, stress, anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, borderline personality disorder, attention deficit hyperactivity disorder, and more. My communication style My communication style is relaxed and laid back. Therapy can be uncomfortable at times, but I don’t want our communication to be. I create an environment that is safe and comfortable. I want you to feel like you are talking with a trusted friend who is focused on you and offers more than advice. My journey to mental healthcare My journey to becoming a therapist might seem unlikely. I started as a deputy sheriff. That experience prepared me to be a better, more understanding therapist. I left law enforcement after becoming a single mom with two young children. I returned to school unsure of what to study and picked behavioral science when I couldn’t figure out why I couldn’t break some painful behavior patterns. That’s where I fell in love with studying human behavior and helping others understand themselves. I worked in community mental health for 7 years.
