What should a new client know about working with you?

New clients can expect a counselor who is highly organized, empathetic, and deeply committed to data-driven growth. My practice is grounded in the belief that mental health support is a collaborative journey. I specialize in working with children and adolescents, addressing a wide range of needs from general wellness and social-emotional development to more intensive crisis intervention and trauma support. I am also a firm advocate for the "Start With Hello" philosophy and restorative practices, emphasizing the importance of connection and community in the healing process. Clients and families will find that I am not only focused on individual therapy but also on providing the necessary training and resources—such as de-escalation strategies and effective communication tools—to help maintain progress outside of our sessions. I operate under the supervision of Mondee Stone, MS, LPC-S, ensuring that my clinical work meets the highest professional standards.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

My therapeutic process is structured yet adaptive, beginning with a thorough assessment to understand each client's unique needs and history. This often includes: Assessment & Goal Setting: I conduct formal evaluations, such as suicidal lethality assessments or counseling assessments, to establish clear, measurable therapy goals and student support plans. Evidence-Based Intervention: I utilize data collection and analysis to inform my approach, whether I am providing individual therapy for trauma and grief or conducting group sessions for specific issues like substance abuse or emotional regulation. Collaborative Support: I frequently coordinate with parents and community-based agencies to ensure a "wraparound" support system. This includes providing specific parent training to promote mental health awareness and growth at home. Ongoing Evaluation: I believe in the power of data to track progress. I regularly review and update treatment plans and IEP goals to ensure that the interventions remain effective and aligned with the client’s evolving needs.
