Hello, I'm Rebecca. Growing up near the beautiful coasts of California and Florida, and traveling around the globe, I developed a deep passion for capturing the natural beauty around me through photography. I love challenging myself with adventurous activities like skydiving and parasailing, which reflect my approach to life and therapy: embracing calculated risks and seeking growth through new experiences. My journey into the world of mental health started with a Bachelor of Science from the University of Central Florida, where I initially pursued a career in law. After working with dynamic legal teams, I felt a calling to make a more direct impact on people's lives, leading me to education and eventually counseling. I earned my Master of Arts in Professional Counseling from Liberty University and became a Licensed Professional Counselor. As a Registered Play Therapist, I have extensive experience working with children who have faced trauma, challenges, and social concerns. I specialize in areas such as anxiety, depression, PTSD, sex/intimacy issues, stress, and trauma. My approach is compassionate and client-centered, focusing on creating a safe and supportive environment where clients can explore their feelings and experiences. One of my proudest achievements is co-creating a training video for other therapists on how to conduct Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) via telehealth, which has been recognized by EMDRIA. This initiative reflects my commitment to continuous learning and sharing knowledge with my peers. In my spare time, I enjoy exploring both old and new places, and I cherish moments spent laughing and playing games with family and friends. These experiences keep me grounded and remind me of the importance of connection and joy in our lives.
