Getting to know Rebecca LoMonaco

Change and uncertainty are unavoidable parts of life whether initiated by choice or unforeseen circumstance. Change can come in the form of a life transition such as moving, a new job, grief and loss, or even a cancer diagnosis. This can be scary and destabilizing. I have worked extensively in assisting adults experiencing a cancer diagnosis, supporting a loved one with cancer, facing life transitions, living with chronic illness or coping with grief. I have experience working within a hospital setting as well as in an outpatient setting. Personally, I have experienced cancer as a caregiver and as a patient. I also have experience with the LGBTQ+ population.

What should a new client know about working with you?

With more than 13 years of experience, I utilize a variety of methods including cognitive behavioral therapy, acceptance and commitment therapy and mindfulness interventions. I use a strengths-based and supportive approach. I work with adults and couples.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

I collaborate with individuals to develop attainable goals, identify grounding coping strategies, make meaning out of life's challenges, and create opportunities for growth. My goal is for you to feel supported and seen in a compassionate, nonjudgmental space.
