Hello,?I’m?Rebecca Mackelprang (pronouns: she/her)—a trauma-informed, neurodiversity-affirming therapist working with LGBTQ+ (including but not limited to Asexual and Aromantic-spectrum and Trans clients), ADHD, and Autistic adults (please note–I use Identity-First language). I know what it can feel like to show up to the world in a way that doesn’t reflect who you truly are—and to have been taught that there’s something wrong with that mismatch. Whether you’ve masked, performed, adapted, or persevered—often without being seen—therapy can be a place to unmask, breathe, and reclaim yourself.

Getting to know Rebecca Mackelprang

What should a new client know about working with you?

I utilized somatic experiencing and parts-work informed sensorimotor psychotherapy, as well as Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT). My approach is grounded in queer theory and attachment theory, and focuses on building a sense of safety that is felt in both the body and the mind.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

Working together might look like: Intake: Explore your history, strengths, identity, and goals Co-create a plan tailored to your pace, modality preferences, and accessibility needs. Early Sessions: Establish safety (both in the mind and the body), build trust in the therapeutic relationship, and set pacing Begin parts work to build internal trust Identify identity or trauma patterns to explore Later Sessions: Build coping, emotion regulation, social skills Process trauma Reconnect with yourself Learn how to set boundaries with others and yourself Build community You deserve a space where you can unmask. Breathe. Reconnect with who you are—without apology. I work with LGBTQ+, Autistic, and ADHD young adults navigating various challenges, including but not limited to: exploring identity, healing from burnout and trauma, religious transitions, and the crushing weight of the pressure to hold it all together when you’re barely hanging on inside. Together, we’ll slow down. We’ll untangle the messages that were never yours to carry. We’ll build a life rooted in your values, your needs, and your way of being in the world.

We do NOT accept insurance at this time. We are committed to providing a supportive and personalized therapeutic experience. In our office, our goal is to help you find your "middle path" to wellness, offering a peaceful space to explore and heal. We certainly don’t want finances to be more of a burden to you. When deciding between insurance and private pay, consider the following: Financial Situation: Assess your budget and determine what you can afford without compromising your financial stability. Therapeutic Needs: Reflect on the importance of therapist compatibility and the ability to work alongside your therapist to determine what your therapeutic needs are, not rely on a stranger to make that determination based on an algorithm. Privacy Concerns: Decide how much you value confidentiality and whether you're comfortable with insurance companies accessing your therapy records and that information being part of your lifetime record. At Middle Path Wellness Collective, we strive to accommodate your preferences and needs, ensuring that your path to wellness is both accessible and effective.
