Getting to know Rebecca Moon

Hi, I’m Rebecca. I believe meaningful change begins with curiosity — a willingness to better understand ourselves, the experiences that have shaped us, and the patterns we've developed along the way. We are all complex, evolving people, and our thoughts, emotions, and behaviors often make more sense when we consider the context in which they developed. My approach is warm, collaborative, and grounded in compassion, curiosity, and clinical humility. I believe you are the expert on your own experience. My role isn't to tell you who to be, but to help you better understand yourself, recognize what may be holding you back, and explore what meaningful change looks like for you. Drawing from relational, trauma-informed, and evidence-based approaches, I consider how our relationships, past experiences, and nervous systems shape the ways we see ourselves and navigate the world. Trauma doesn't always look the way we expect. Sometimes it shows up as anxiety, perfectionism, difficulty trusting others, or patterns that once helped us feel safe but no longer serve us. I believe these responses deserve understanding rather than judgment. Whether you're navigating trauma, anxiety, relationship challenges, life transitions, or feeling disconnected from yourself, our work will make room for both reflection and action. Insight is valuable, but what we do with that insight matters just as much. At the heart of my work is the belief that growth isn't about becoming someone entirely different. It's about developing a more honest, compassionate, and connected relationship with yourself, so you can move through life with greater intention, flexibility, and confidence.

What should a new client know about working with you?

Clinical humility is central to how I practice. I believe being a thoughtful therapist means recognizing the limits of my knowledge and remaining open to learning from both research and my clients. I hold a certificate in Traumatic Stress Studies from the Trauma Research Foundation and continually seek out new research, reading, consultation, and continuing education. I'm especially intentional about identifying gaps in my understanding and seeking further training when a client's needs call for it. I see learning as an ongoing responsibility, not simply a requirement, and believe my clients deserve a therapist who remains curious, accountable, and willing to grow.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

I believe the relationship we build is the foundation of meaningful therapy. Early sessions focus on getting to know you, building trust, and finding ways to manage what feels difficult right now. As you begin to feel more grounded, we can look beneath the surface to explore the experiences, relationships, and deeper wounds that shaped how you see yourself and the world. I work at your pace, balancing support with gentle challenge. Progress might look like feeling less overwhelmed, recognizing old patterns, or finding new ways to respond to yourself and others. My goal is for therapy to feel like a space where you can show up as you are, without pressure to have it all figured out.
