Getting to know Rebecca Paushter

Hi, I'm Becca — a Licensed Clinical Social Worker who truly loves helping others. I’m here to create a welcoming space where you feel deeply seen, heard, supported, and empowered. For the past 9 years, I’ve supported clients through some of life’s toughest challenges, and I’m continually inspired by the breakthroughs that unfold in our work together. I bring warmth, curiosity, compassion, and humor to every session. Clients often tell me they feel safe showing up as their full selves — even when part of our work is discovering who that authentic self truly is and learning to love that person wholeheartedly. My style is collaborative and down-to-earth. I’m not here to give you all the answers, but to help you explore and uncover your own. I’ll offer guidance, perspective, and encouragement—celebrating your progress while nurturing your healing and growth. If you’re ready to begin, I’m here for you.

What should a new client know about working with you?

Therapy with me is a space where you can show up fully — without performing or holding it all together. My approach is collaborative, affirming, and tailored to your unique needs. Together, we’ll focus on the goals that matter most to you. As an Eclectic therapist rooted in Narrative Therapy, I draw from a range of evidence-based approaches, including: • Relational and depth-oriented psychotherapy • Cognitive-behavioral and acceptance-based approaches • Emotion-focused, experiential, and somatic therapy • Mindfulness- and compassion-based practices Many of the people I work with in therapy are healing from childhood and relational trauma, including adult children of emotionally immature caregivers and survivors of narcissistic abuse, domestic violence, childhood abuse or neglect, and relationships where their needs were overlooked or dismissed. Others come to therapy feeling stuck in patterns of codependency, over-giving, and prioritizing everyone else's needs while setting their own aside. I also support individuals exploring questions of identity and reconnecting with who they are beyond roles, labels, relationships, diagnoses, expectations, or abilities, as well as those navigating life transitions such as relationship changes, career shifts, relocation, or grief. Together, we'll cultivate greater self-acceptance, self-forgiveness, self-worth, and a more compassionate relationship with yourself. Beginning therapy can feel vulnerable — but healing from childhood and relational wounds is possible. If you're ready to move from survival mode into a more authentic, grounded way of living, I'd be honored to walk alongside you — supporting you through both the challenges of change and the joy of your breakthroughs.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

The first therapy session is an opportunity for us to get to know each other and begin building the foundation for our work together — you’re welcome to share as much or as little as you feel comfortable with. You’ll learn more about my style as a therapist and my approach to therapy, and you’re encouraged to ask questions at any time. We’ll begin to identify your goals and discuss how we can work collaboratively toward them throughout the course of treatment. The session will feel like an open conversation and is a space for you to see whether it feels like a safe and supportive environment for ongoing work together. From there, we’ll continue to shape the direction of therapy together. I don’t believe in one-size-fits-all approach — therapy with me is always tailored to your individual needs, because no two journeys are the same. We’ll create goals that feel meaningful, grounded in your values, and responsive to your lived experience. Sessions often move between deep emotional exploration and more practical support, depending on what you need in each moment. I regularly check in with you about how therapy is feeling because I believe you are the expert in your own life, and my role is to serve as a guide. We'll move at a pace that respects your nervous system and your readiness, with an emphasis on safety, trust, and creating meaningful transformation that lasts beyond the therapy room. If this feels like what you're seeking in therapy— and in a therapist— I’d love to hear from you. I look forward to witnessing your Breakthrough.
