I'm glad you're here. Deciding to make changes in your life is hard, and I want to help you meet your goals for your ideal life. I don't believe I know you better than you do on what those goals should be. I imagine my role as a person alongside you, working WITH you. I specialize in depression, anxiety, and other mood disorders, self-harm, and life transitions. My approach I tailor my approach to each individual sitting across the screen from me. Every person, even with the same diagnosis, should be treated as an individual. I utilize aspects of CBT to help people challenge their thoughts. I have a long history of working with individuals with trauma, so all of my interventions are trauma-informed care. I prefer to help clients process through what's going on, rather than just manage symptoms, because I believe my job is to work myself out of a job. My focus Life can be difficult. I'm here to help you with that. I support you and your goals and your path. I will not pretend to know you better than you. I'm here to be the expert on therapy, and you're here to be the expert on you. Together, we can find your way to your goals. My communication style I believe that direct, honest communication is important for any therapeutic intervention to work. I do not lie to my clients, and I will tell you what I see. I utilize humor quite often, but never at the expense of you. I encourage all of my clients to tell me if I'm wrong or if I offend you in any way. My journey to mental healthcare I've wanted to be a therapist since I was 15 years old. When I was in high school, I was always the person people talked to. I grew up in a large metropolitan area with a lot of resources. Even so, I watched my friends struggle to even talk to their parents for fear of stigma. This very much irritates me to this day.
