She also trained in dance at the University of Michigan, where she performed, taught and earned a Master of Fine Arts degree. Rebecca has extensive experience working with families and parents of children with special needs. For several years she worked to help parents identify developmental delays in children under age five and teach parents to address specific developmental deficits. She later worked as the social worker at the Early Childhood Autism Academy within the Jewish Child and Family Services organization, where she worked with children and their families (siblings, parents, and grandparents). She also practiced as a therapist at the Virginia Frank Child Development private therapeutic day school in Chicago. Rebecca also has extensive experience working with adults and couples who struggle with relationship issues, work/life balance struggles, and life transitions. She has helped individuals with depression, anxiety, low self-esteem, body image, illness, anger, grief, and loss by cultivating a supportive, trusting relationship and helping her clients explore the feelings and issues causing them to feel compromised in their lives. Rebecca incorporates her dance/movement therapy background to help clients recognize the connection between their feelings and body tension and guides them through ways to safely release those tensions. Rebecca’s clinical approach applies elements from different therapeutic models, including mindfulness, cognitive behavioral therapy, client-centered therapy, dialectical behavioral therapy, the Gottman model for couples, and family systems therapy. Most importantly, Rebecca believes that with empathy and insight, she can help clients to improve their self-awareness and their self-image,
