“I think Rebecca is one of the best therapists I have ever seen. It truly feels like we have a therapeutic relationship that makes me comfortable and willing to be open. The sessions are a great balance of guidance and listening, so I always leave feeling understood. More importantly though, I feel as though we accomplish something together each and every session. ”

Getting to know Rebecca Saltzman

I believe counseling is a collaborative, holistic process. I come from a strengths-based perspective that supports a person's capacity for change and recognizes the importance of one's life story. As a counselor, my goal is to foster positive changes in every client's life by creating an environment that feels safe and exploratory while examining experiences, fears, and desires through multiple lenses—all while learning tools to better manage emotions and perceive and interact with our world. My 17 years of clinical experience include working with individuals, families, and groups of all ages and levels of acuity. I enjoy working with pre-teen, adolescent, and adult clients facing challenges with mood, life transitions, balance and stress, adoption and infertility, parenting issues, relational concerns, and trauma. I hold a Master’s in Community Counseling and a Post-Master’s Certificate in Children and Adolescent Counseling from Regis University. As a Certified Family Investigator (CFI), I understand that coping with family conflict, custody, and divorce issues can be some of the most challenging times in one’s life. My goal is to work with each family as a neutral third party—gathering information and reporting facts and recommendations with transparency, empathy, and sensitivity—with the hope of helping families rather than adding additional stress.

What should a new client know about working with you?

In your first session we will have the chance to get to know one another, learn about your history, address immediate concerns and collaborate together your goals for treatment. I often use Acceptance Commitment Therapy with a person-centered approach, but may employ a variety of different treatment types to fit your individual needs.
