Hi there, I'm Rebecca! I am Rebecca Turgeon, a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) passionate about working with individuals between the ages of 18 and midlife who struggle with focus, organization, and creating a life that aligns with their true selves. Through cultivating mindset, executive functioning skills, mindfulness, and strength and values identification, you can grow the life you want to lead. My approach includes Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, values exploration, Positive Psychology, Solution Focus, mindfulness and meditation, life skills, and executive functioning. My focus is on college students to midlife adults who may experience symptoms of ADHD, depression, and anxiety. My communication style is supportive, safe, direct, and action-oriented. My journey to mental healthcare began with recognizing the need for providers who truly understand ADHD, especially in females. Growing up, I noticed there were few who grasped the impact ADHD has as individuals transition from child and adolescent supports into adulthood—whether in the college classroom or the workforce. Having a space to feel comfortable and open in sharing the experience of ADHD is essential. My goals for you include understanding where you are with the idea of change, clarifying where you want to be by the end of services, and identifying what is most important for you to work on. I take a collaborative approach to goal-setting. In our first session, you can expect a supportive, nonjudgmental environment where I listen carefully and ask questions about your experience of symptoms. I am thorough and want to ensure I understand what has been happening over the first few sessions. You may have tasks to complete between sessions because I believe the work you do both in and outside of sessions is equally important.
