As a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) and a certified school counselor, I bring a wealth of experience and dedication to my practice. I earned my bachelor’s degree from Angelo State University and my master’s degree from Sam Houston State University. Additionally, I hold a PhD in Counselor Education from SHSU, where my research focused on the importance of building relationships in today’s ever-changing society. With 23 years of experience in the field of education, I have a particular affinity for working with adolescents and teens. My counseling experience spans working with children, adults, and couples in both individual and group settings. I have specialized training in addressing anxiety, depression, trauma, suicide, self-harm, and ADHD. Additionally, I offer parent consultation services to support families in their journey. My guiding theory of counseling is rooted in the principles of Carl Rogers. I firmly believe in the client being the center of their own therapy. This person-centered approach fosters self-discovery and builds greater self-worth and confidence. I also integrate strengths-based counseling into my sessions, helping clients recognize and utilize their inherent strengths to overcome challenges.
