Renee Anzovino, LPC

Psychotherapist
CT
Hi, I’m Renée—a Licensed Professional Counselor who helps individuals and couples untangle old patterns, build healthier connections, and feel more like themselves again. I offer a warm, honest, and supportive space where you can slow down, feel understood, and move toward the kind of life and relationships you truly want. My path wasn’t traditional. I started my career in actuarial science, but over the years I found myself drawn more to people’s stories, relationships, and emotional health. My own experiences with pre/postpartum challenges, identity, and major life transitions pushed me toward counseling. Being of Caribbean descent and growing up as an Christian immigrant and then creating my own blended/bicultural family gives me a deeper understanding of how culture, faith, and family expectations impact our emotional world. I realized I wanted to help others break unhealthy patterns, build healthier relationships, and feel more grounded. Today, I work with adults and couples navigating life changes, family-of-origin issues, and relationship challenges.

What should a new client know about working with you?

I’m warm, honest, and down-to-earth. In our first session or two, I take time to understand your story and what you want to change. I balance support with gentle honesty—validating your feelings while helping you notice patterns that may be keeping you stuck. Progress often looks like small, steady changes: clearer boundaries, better communication, fewer emotional spikes, and more self-awareness. I work best with adults and couples dealing with anxiety/panic, relationship issues, family patterns, postpartum challenges, religious trauma or feeling disconnected from themselves.
